Sarah Temporal

Sarah Temporal is a performance poet and educator of over 17 years experience. She founded Poets Out Loud after winning the 2018 Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup. She has performed at Sydney Writers Festival, Maitland Indie Festival, National Folk Festival and more. Sarah initiated and manages the Poets Out Loud Youth Program and other projects. She is the host of Poets Out Loud open mic, as well as being a Mum to baby Harriet.
Damien Becker

Damien Becker is a community development worker, disability activist and the current NSW Poetry Slam Champion. He lives with cystic fibrosis and is a double-lung transplant recipient.
Jedda Winkworth

Jedda is a writer and poet who is passionate about the power of spoken word to move, heal and inspire change. She was selected to represent Griffith University in slam poetry demonstrations at the 2018 Georgetown Festival, Malaysia. Published in Talent Implied Anthology, Getamugstit magazine and Healing Times magazine, Jedda has competed in events such as the Nimbin Performance Poetry Cup and the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival Open Slam. Jedda is a poet-mentor on the 2020 Youth Program.
Anna Avocado

Anna Avocado is the 2019 QLD slam champion and has performed as a finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam, the Bunker Spoken Word, and the Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup. As a counsellor she knows the importance of words that inspire compassion and empowerment.
Anna is a poet-mentor on the 2020 Youth Program and occasional marketing assistant for Poets Out Loud.
Katinka Smit

Katinka Smit began performing as a poet alongside an acting career (mostly theatre) in Newcastle in the 90s. She has worked as a life skills coach with disadvantaged youth, as a speech and drama tutor in youth theatre, and volunteers for the Byron Writers Festival’s Story Board and youth master class sessions. She was a 2018 finalist in the Nimbin Performance Poetry Cup. Katinka is a poet-mentor on the 2020 Youth Program and occasional admin assistant for Poets Out Loud.
