Poets Out Loud is back!

For the first time since February, Poets Out Loud will be live in our beloved home, Bacaro cafe at M-Arts precinct.

The mic is open for you to share an original spoken word piece. Our feature, acclaimed performance poet David Hallett, will launch his new collection.

About our feature:

Longtime host of Lismore’s ‘Live Poets’ and Byron Bay’s ‘Writers at the Rails’ performance poet David Hallett has been writing and touring his poetry since the mid 1970s. Twice winner of the Poetry Olympics at the Sydney Writers Festival and winner of the 2019 Reciter of the Year Award at the National Folk Festival in Canberra. David has taken his poetry from outback schools and festivals to the Sydeny Opera House and the beat cafes of New York. David Hallett has just launched ‘Out of the Blue’, his first collection of poems in ten years, tracing war and peaces, the whirlpool of climate chaos, the spin of markets and shopping malls, the digital tsunami, and love.
