Join award-winning spoken word artist Boy Renaissance in a journey of self-reflection and writing, as we explore the moments that have made us who we are today. We will turn some of that journey into beautiful poetry using Boy Renaissance’s original writing techniques.
A small number of participants will be invited to share their poems at our free event on 24th Feb. Who We Become: Community Stories from Poets Out Loud.
This workshop is suitable for:
- Beginners and experienced writers / poets.

About the facilitator:
Boy Renaissance is an award-winning poet & performer whose work centres around the tension between faith and queer identity. Boy has toured their poetry across Australia and the UK, is the 2022 Nimbin Poetry World Cup champion, the 2018 Bellingen Reader Writer’s Festival Slam champion, and holds many additional slam-titles besides. Their poetry short film ‘Like Odysseus’ was the official selection for Word Travels’ 2022 Story Week. Boy is currently a company member with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre, and is finishing their psychotherapy therapy degree while directing writing latest play in development.
